What a fun thing! I bought the Voilamart 1000-Watt rear wheel motor to convert my old GT mountain bike into an Ebike.
As far as I could tell, the kit came with everything. The kit is fairly straightforward to assemble, though some important parts are missing- I had to purchase a torque arm separately. I also needed to purchase clips for wire management as I did not want to use zip ties on the parts that need to be removed for maintenance/repair (back wheel mostly in case I get a flat tire lol) I also think it’d be a huge plus if a disc brake conversion was included- this was another upgrade I purchased as I read rim brakes may not be sufficient to handle the speeds Ebikes are capable of. The bag that houses the computer is a little small to accommodate the computer and the wire loom, but that can be remedied by purchasing a larger bag.
Aside from the minor things mentioned above, the install/assembly was very easy. My old tire and puncture resistant tube fit the rim without a problem, and everything went into place without any modifications to the (old!) existing parts on my bike. Connecting everything was very easy as the wires are all color coded and easy to plug in. Routing the wire loom was tricky as there’s a lot of extra wire…
Once everything was installed… The first ride was awesome! On the lowest power setting, I was able to get to 27mph with little effort. The pedal assist function was pretty consistent at 20mph with moderate pedaling on a mostly flat street. I plan to enjoy this bike for a long time! Thanks for a great product!

It’s worth the investment 100%!. Great power,speed, and quiet. As long you install everything properly this will be bring loads of fun. It’s almost too fast. As it keeps gaining as you give it throttle. PAS working perfectly as you can adjust it. 48v battery with 1000w rear wheel kit. Only issue I have to upgrade my brakes too disc hydraulic because its a little difficult on these brakes to stop at higher speeds. And they get hot! Casual riding and some pedaling I got 50 miles! And that was with original charge the battery shipped in with! As I used it to condition before I fully charged it.

This is a nice kit that seems very well made. A few gripes.. 1) you’ll need to pull the pins out of the connector for the hub motor if you want to add a torque arm, because the connector will not pass through the hole for the axle. Easy enough to do. Take a photo of it first so it’s easy to see which pin goes in which hole. 2) throttle does nothing in PAS 0 mode. I have only bench tested so far as I’m still waiting for a bunch of parts, but I’m hoping to have full throttle ability in any PAS mode from 1 to 5 and I will report back with my findings once I have the bike on the road.
** Yes. Full power throttle regardless of PAS mode!
3) controller headlight output is +48v any time controller is switched on. Plan on adding a separate headlight switch if you plan on installing one. 4) I wish the controller had more advanced settings.
Other than that, I’m expecting good things. Freewheel speed of the motor at full throttle is 41.3MPH.
I also wish I could find a front alloy wheel that matched the rear, but that has nothing to do with this kit.
Will definitely update this review once the build is complete and I’ve got a few miles on the machine!
** UPDATE **
Kit is together and fully functioning. Very crudely wired, excess balled up and taped.. the controller bag that comes with the kit isn’t what I want to use.. I don’t care for it. I have a hard plastic controller case on the way and I will re-wire the entire bike fitting everything inside the case for a clean look. Road test using throttle only going down a slight hill got me up around 35MPH. This motor is quite powerful and has no problem hauling my 250lbs up hills. This bike definitely has more power than my 2020 RadCity, and cost WAY less, but isn’t nearly as refined as the Rad.
PAS works pretty well. There is a noticeable delay before assist kicks in and again for it to stop when you stop pedaling, but I believe that is pretty common with cadence sensors.
Stop thinking about it and just buy this kit if it’ll fit your bike. You’ll be happy with the results!
Also worth mentioning: The included tire seemed pretty low-grade, and I needed a new tire up front as well, so I ordered a set of pretty wide road tires. Yes, the rim is a little narrow, but I had no trouble mounting a 26×2.125” tire on it. I found a chart online showing what size tires fit on different rim widths and everything is within spec. I would have preferred a slightly wider rim, as my old bike uses cantilever brakes. The wheel included has a mount for disk brakes so if you’re converting a disk brake bike this should go right in.

I love this kit, it is cheap and reliable, it works great, and it is completely silent, it wasn’t very hard to put together, but the pedal assist was tricky and the free wheel did not come with a proper washer to secure it without locking it up. screen is a nice feature and kit is capable of running on 24 through 72 volts. Does not come with torque arms which is needed for safe install
