Great bike for the price. Great bike for the price (paid $499). Crashed my other bike (old inexpensive Mountain Bike) in March and needed a replacement. It was easy to assemble but I recommend to get a different seat (typical small/hard seat). The bike rides very nicely and the brakes are, compared to my previous bike, really good.
Works as an entry-level road bike, tires aren't great. Assembly wasn't too difficult, it took about an hour and didn't require anything complex or significant adjustment of gears (for me at least). After a few hundred miles I have enjoyed the riding and while it isn't anything fancy (aluminum frame, pad brakes etc) it does shift gears pretty well and isn't so heavy.I did not like the tires that came with it however - they gave me tons of flats consistently on my normal routes. After going through about 5 tubes in a row, swapping out for sturdier tires was necessary for me to stop the flats, adding to the wheel weight.
Nice road bike. Very light weight and is a dream to ride
Poor quality, bent frame. This bike didn't last a year.
Acceptable for a Newbie Road Bike. Updating the review & adding a 3rd picture. Restating - if you live in a hilly area, do yourself a favor. Swap out that factory 14-28 freewheel for a SunRace MFM300 - 14-34. The gears are evenly spaced apart & hill climbing will be so much easier.Make no mistake about it…this is the most basic road bike you can buy with Shimano STI shifters. Tourney components are at the bottom of the Totem Pole. However, this bike can be “acceptable” for newbies and old fools like me who don’t need a bike costing $1,000 or more. But…no bike, no matter what the cost comes perfect out-of-the-box. The first thing I did after unboxing & inspecting everything was throw the pedals away! A) The bearings inside were bone dry. The spindles wouldn’t turn. B) Schwinn must think I have very small feet. Helpful hints…1. During assembly, apply some white lithium grease or Park Tool PolyLube to the pedal threads & inside the seat-post tube. Otherwise, over time these will seize up and become permanently affixed to the bike. Same thing with the freewheel. Get yourself a Shimano freewheel remover & make sure those threads also have a light coating of grease.2. If you live in a hilly area, that Shimano 14-28 freewheel just won’t cut it. Replaced it with a SunRace 14-34.3. Toss those front & rear reflectors away or save them in a scrounge box. For visibility, get lights! Even the picture from Schwinn shows a rider with a headlight during daylight hours. Be seen!4. You should have emergency supplies in a seat-bag. The BV Bicycle Strap-On Seat Bag is a good choice. Always carry a spare tube, tire levers and multi-purpose folding tool.5. Back to assembly… Brake pads should be slightly toed-in, towards the front of the bike. This prevents squeaking and provides better stopping power.6. During the break-in period, derailleurs may need some fine tuning. Maybe right out of the box too. Mine was. I needed to turn the barrel nut adjuster about two turns on the rear derailleur counterclockwise to grab 1st gear. The Park Tool Help Repair website is chock full of articles and videos.Happy riding!
Am I enjoying this thing. I think I got a great deal on this bike. The model has probably been discontinued. But I love it. I have never had a bike like this and it took me a while to figure out how to adjust it but I think I got it (thank God for YouTube!). I'm having the time of my life with it. I'm in shape but not for bike riding and can only do 10 to 12 miles at a time. And I enjoy every minute of it!
Very nice bike. I’ve had this bike for about a month now and I’m very happy with it. The gears rattle a bit in higher gears but it shifts nice. The bike is very light and great for inclines
Great ride. Easy to assemble, smooth ride, absolutely beautiful bike

2. Schwinn Phocus Adult Road Bike

It’s endurance. Great Bike love it it’s fast !! I’m 194 it holds up really well took to a bike shop and had it assembled there and changed seat out and pedals to shimano clip ins .The seat is easily adjustable with a lever. Brakes work great front and rear breaks shifts smoothly
Great entry-level road bike. For the price, this is an excellent entry-level road bike. The flat bar is nice, but the grips slide around and needed to be swapped out (this is the only real negative about this bike, I'd take a quarter star off) The geometry is great for speed and hill climbing. The derailluers shift quickly, smoothly and accurately. They only required a little adjustment out of the box. The brakes do squeal, which is inherent on some disk brakes so Im not sure if the adjustment is off or its just the pads.It was very easy to assemble. Requires only a few basic tools. Adjustable wrench (or open-end wrenches), a set of good hex keys and a screwdriver is all I needed. I would have a local bike professional tune it up after assembly if you don't know how to adjust the derailleur and brakes. However,YouTube has videos and it's not hard once you get the hang of what everything adjusts for.I did need a gel cover for the seat or would definitely recommend riding shorts.I ride about 20 miles a day on this bike and overall am very happy with it!
Arrived with missing parts - but once handled, it's a pretty good bike. This is my first review after just partially assembling it. I bough it "like-new", with 40% price reduction compared to the price of a new. It came with missing parts, namely, the screws that are needed to secure the handle bar to the steering column, are missing. Now I have to go on a hunt with the manufacturer, and potentially pay some more money to get the missing screws. Otherwise, there was one bent part that made it hard to mount the front wheel, but I managed to handle that. This is an update after day2:I finished assembling the bike after finding some screws in a friend's workshop. Adjusted the seat to my liking, and tuned the brakes - front and rear. Also on the shifters, I had to adjust the front derailer as it was making some scraping sound under certain circumstances. That's good now. The only thing left is some mild scraping sound coming from (I believe) the front brake. What's funny is when I lift the front wheel and spin it, there is no scraping sound. When I lift the rear wheel and spin it, there is not scraping sound. But when I ride, there is...But that's no issue at all. I took the bike to a spin and got a few 100 yards of test run. I'm disappointed by the brakes. They require hard squeeze to get the rear wheel lock up on asphalt, and at the hardest squeeze of the front brake I'm in no danger of falling over the steering bar or raising the rear wheel off the ground. I expected better than this. Few years ago, I had a $100 walmart mountain bike. It had rim brakes and they worked better than these disc brakes. I thought disc brakes would be much better than rim brakes. Maybe I just need to use them more and they will become better? Only time will tell.On the bright side, the bike is light, and fun to ride, and despite what I wrote above, the brakes do provide sufficient stopping power. I'll have to get out on a few longer rides to gather more experience with this thing. For now, it works, the ride is smooth, quiet, the bike is light, the shifters work and the brakes are also "ok".Update a few months later:This is an awesome bike. The brakes work well now, the scraping sound is gone. Easy to ride, I have 15-20 mile excursions with it and it was fun. The way I bought it (40% discount for like-new, with some issue that were easy to handle), it definitely worth it. I contacted the manufacturer at one point for help, they said this thing was under no warranty. So keep that in mind. No support - no warranty. Any issue you can't handle, you have to take to the local bike shop and pay for the work. I didn't have to do that.
Bike came with one defect......will update if Schwinn sends replacement part. Everything was fine until I started riding it. The one issue (a big issue) is that the left pedal keeps coming off. I have assembled multiple bikes in the past, and had no issues as of yet. This one took about 15 minutes to assemble and tune up after I got everything unwrapped out of the box. The left pedal tread seemed to be damaged, and the left pedal would come off when riding. I will update it to 5 stars when Schwinn sends me a replacement part for the left pedal and the left crank arm.UPDATE: THEY RESPONDED ONCE AND THEN STOPPED RESPONDING. DO NOT BUY SCHWINN. THEY WILL NOT SEND YOU PARTS OR REPAIR EVEN IF YOU'RE UNDER WARRANTY. DO. NOT. PURCHASE. SCHWINN. BIKES. SPEND A BIT MORE FOR A BETTER FRAME ANYWAYS AND YOU'LL THANK YOURSELF LATER.AFTER REPAIRING THE BIKE WITH MY OWN MONEY, IT RIDES TERRIBLY AND HAS TROUBLE SWITCHING GEARS SOMETIMES.
Great deal on a good bike. It's been a while since I've bought a new bike. Never considered buying a Schwinn because I associated the brand with being cheap and old school. Since college I've owned a Nishiki, Giant, Specialized, top of the line bikes. I bought this bike purely based on price as nowadays I'm more a leisure rider. I have to say upon arrival I'm impressed with Schwinn's quality. The bike was packaged extremely well, instructions to put the bike together were easy (about 30-45 minutes), extremely light weight, and looks great. Despite ease of assembly I suggest taking it to a bike shop and have them 'tune' it (about $60) after you put it together or $100 (approx) for both assembly and tune. That way you can be assured everything is calibrated and adjusted properly. Overall I'm very happy with the quality of this bike.
Great bike, compare to high end expensive bikes. Great bike, I have put this thing on several 30-50 mile rides. I love cycling but not enough to pay a fortune for a carbon bike. To be honest the weight from a carbon bike wont be incredibly different from an aluminum bike. This bike weighs roughly 26 pounds. The only real benefit to carbon is for vibration absorption. This bike has a carbon fork on the front, so that definitely helps with the vibration.Set up was extremely easy took about 15 minutes. This bike has went through some hard rides and has held up nicely. One thing I can suggest is after assembly take to a local bike shop just to make sure it was put together correctly. In short great bike, don't waste your money on a super expensive bike. I plan on riding this bike in a century ride or two this summer.
Schwinn Phocus Does Not Include Shimano Parts. Description says the Phocus has Shimano parts, but it doesn't. The Schwinn service representative said to return it. If Shimano is important to you, don't buy this bike.
Aunque si se deben modificar de inmediato las llantas y todos los baleros por qué vienen de muy mala calidad, fuera de eso es buena para iniciar
Got this bike from Amazon. It looks amazing. I put Continental Gatorskin 28mm tires on it and Shimano SPD-SL pedals. Removed the reflectors and boom. Look at this thing. It’s beautiful. It’s at the LBS right now getting tuned but I rode it around the street and other than the gears needing indexing it’s light and fast. Can’t wait to take it out.UPDATE: Weather allowed me to take it out for 3 rides this week. 30k plus each of them. I averaged 27kmph on the rides on crisp March mornings. This thing is fast. Claris system works well. I did have it tuned at the shop. Shifts like a dream. Worth the money but put 28mm foldable tires on it.
Its a really great bike my height is 6'30" and weight is 95 and i can commute anywhere easily with 70 psi, and my advice for new riders would be when assembling the bike consider get its gear and chain tuned from an experienced biker or bike shop
I wanted a sturdy all purpose bike to ride on the trails and this bike delivered. I would buy it again.
Like it a lot. Perfect for beginners or advanced riders.

Wonderful. My fiancée loves her bike! It arrived fast, and was free of shipping damage. It was relatively easy to assemble once I had the correct tools, and is good quality for such a low price. From a more technical point of view, the bike is a little on the heavy side considering its only medium sized. The dual set of brakes is a hit for my fiancèe who doesn't like to always be reaching for the drop brakes. The shift levers are a bit far back, but considering the brake set-up, it makes sense. For the price, this bike is a great buy, and even though it's not a top of the line road bike, it is more than enough to get you outside and enjoying cycling.
not a performance bike. i have a mountain bike and wanted to bike on the road ,bought this thinking it would give better performance and i can ride faster on the road. It does but very little boost compare to mountain bike. Its a good bike but if you are looking for a performance one this is not. Also, changing gear is not smooth and makes noise and have to constantly adjust the front and back to make the noise go away whenever changing the gear. also wasn't able to go all 21 speed, certain combination of front and back are not possible to do. couple of time chain got dislodged during the uphill chaining gear making it dangerous.Tried to call the vendor but put me on hold for a long time and i gave up.
Good starter/learner bike. Good bike for teens. Nice color. Classic building materials. Long lasting, simple construction. Easy to maintain. The wheels hold up to around 200 lbs. If you need more than that then plan on replacing them. The factor assembly was a little rough. But everyone should know how to tune a bike. Everything's right in front of you. You just need a few tools. You should probably just go ahead and replace the bottom bracket with a cartridge part.Unfortunately the bike was missing the seat post and saddle.
Meh. This bike ain't the best out there. It's definitely a budget bike. As far as looks go this thing is a looker but actually using it is a different story. If you're mechanically inclined getting this thing together isn't rocket science. But adjusting the poorly constructed brakes takes some time. After the better half of a day adjusting the brakes to get more stopping power I finally came to the conclusion the brake pads this bike came with are garbage 1/10 no bueno. They're made from this soft rubber material similar to the consistency of a pencil eraser that has poor bite on the rim of the bike. Riding it is pleasant. I was able to get some speed relatively easilyBike maintainss it's momentum as it rides. Shifting through the gears isn't the best. Not really a fan of the lever type shifters but it gets the job done. Quality feels ok, and as far as durability it's not good. After the first ride the bike fell apart and became unusable, via an issue with the rear wheel hub. Overall for the price they're asking if say it's not worth it. Had to wait a month for the bike to get here due to a lack of inventory. Definitely not worth the wait. Super disappointed. I am glad Amazon is making it right with a full refund but still can't help being bummed out after having waited so long for it.
Could Not Have Been Happier - NYC commuter. I purchased this bike back in March to commute to work 17 miles a day round trip in NYC. In honesty, I bought this as a quick fix to taking the subway during the surge and peak of our Covid outbreak with the expectation that I would purchase a better bike after a few paychecks. However, this bike as surpassed my wildest expectations and has performed wonderfully. Durable and comfortable, I've ridden almost 1000 miles at this point with no degradation issues. Normal maintenance is required of course. The gear shifter is not as precise as advertised, but at the price point, can you really complain? I can't speak to other's experiences, but if I was faced with the same decision again, I would purchase this bike without question.
Review. Gear system is not indexed properly so they slip often. Had issues with the chain after putting it together for that reason. Near the brake handle, a part snapped easily. It rides well enough for me to go back and forth from school. It is a great price but like all things; there will be pros and cons. Would I purchase another? Most likely.
Looks nice, but cheap quality. Got my first one, one the first ride the shaft broke on the handle bars. Then the replacement, #1, didn't come with peddles. Then #2, 13 miles in, handle bars are great, but the right peddle breaks off.
Nice bike for the budget. Now this bike is not your average lowly priced bike on the market, but for me there was not really any downsides.Pros - cheaper option, nice edge on competitors or friends, easy to assemble.Cons - if you wanna shift gears you got to take one hand off the handle (luckily not that hard to master).I definitely didn't list everything possible but my final opinion is… obviously it’s a nice bike.
I have had this bike for 4 months now. I had to readjust the index of the shifter for it to be more accurate. I also had to tighten the brakes. One side of the seat had recently fell off the rail somehow while remaining serviceable. On a couple of occasions I had the thought that I should have spent more money on a better bike. On most other occasions when I wasn't being stupid however, I pat myself on the back for finding a bike with such a good value. I feel that it's light enough, sturdy enough and fast enough to be worth much more than it is being sold for.
I've had this bike for about a year now and I must say it is a decent ride for the price. Although It is very heavy and 1 year in, the cheap materials start to show themselves. Can't be bothered to put a dime into servicing it. Brake pads are first to go, then tire tread. Shifting is very rough, some rust starting to form. For $200 you cannot really go wrong though. The forks were mounted backwards out of the box when it arrived but I thought it was funny. I am now upgrading to a real road bike.
Je crois que ça fesais longtemps qu'il attendais pour être acheter il y a un problème avec la roue arrière elle est croche ..et les gears bouge beaucoup

Very Nice Mens Bike. My husband loves this bike... which is saying a lot! He has a more expensive road bike, yet he wanted one to keep at the house, and one at our camper along side of a bike trail. It is light weight and good quality. We ride over 2500 miles each year. It's a great reasonable priced bike.
Lots of negatives in a decent bike. This might be a bit of a journey. I crashed on my mountain bike and broke my thumb so I figured this would be a good way to keep riding. Let’s start with the biggest problem, the shifters and the brakes. A terrible system for a road bike. I upgraded to micro shift brake and shift levers and they are 100 times better. The next problem. My front chainring was bent from the factory... or maybe in shipping. This means it rubs on the front derailleur. The bike fell over by its own in the garage one night and paint scratched incredibly easy. This was fixed with a white sharpie marker. The valves aren’t presta... theyre Schrader. So why 4 stars if it sucks? For the money this is a great bike. I’m one to replace everything on a bike as a project. The frame looks good but it’s heavy. If you’re just getting into road biking it’s a great way to find out of you like it or not... just don’t expect much out of the shifters or brake levers. Overall it’s a solid bike if you have a few extra bucks to spend on upgrades.
Much better than I expected. I've had this bike for about a year and a half or about 2000 miles, it has far exceeded my expectations. At its price point I guess I expected it to be an uncomfortable mess that falls apart after a few weeks. It's been a solid performer and makes for both a reliable daily driver as well as a solid piece of equipment for both long rides or short sprint workouts. Most of the other reviews mention the same missing screw over and over. I do remember that mine had fallen off in shipping, but I found them in the box under one of the flaps. I wonder how many people who's were missing got thrown out with the box.It took me a little while to get everything adjusted and tightened down, but once I did I never had a problem again. The shifting and drivetrain are dependable, once I got the derailleurs dialed in I never have to worry about the chain slipping or falling off the chainring.I did have to order a stem riser, the handlebars are very low, which was a problem for me when I got it because I wasn't used to being in that riding position, I didn't have a lot of experience on a road bike. Because of its price point I suspect a lot of riders who choose this bike will have the same problem. The customer service so far has been pretty great. About a year into ownership I reached out to the amazon seller about the specs on replacement parts, and they've happily answered quickly every time I do.Its definitely not the lightest or most aero bike on the market, but it doesn't exactly make me yearn for something lighter or sleeker. Mine weighs 28lbs currently, it's easy enough to carry up and down stairs, and I don't feel like its weight is hurting me on climbs.I've been training quite a bit on this bike this summer and I've made massive gains in personal performance, honestly I get a special kind of joy riding this bike blowing past riders on one to two thousand dollar bikes on my local bike trails.Overall I've been very happy with this bike, and would probably recommend it to friends who were looking to get into cycling
Don't be fooled. This is NOT a road bike. I wanted to try cycling, thought this would be a good starter bike. I loved riding, road multiplexes a week. Every day for at least 30-45 mins. I was getting about 8-9miles a trip. I road at least 5 or 6 times a week. The bike literally fell apart. Brakes popped off mid ride, bounced off my front spoke and almost hit me in the face. Took two trips to bike shop to get it going initially. Then the front gears snapped going up a hill and chain popped off. Had to call a ride to get home... I was 6 miles away from home. Its.a.good bike, if u just want leisure here n there. Don't get it if u really want a road bike. I ended up at a bike shop and bought a real road bike.Good news, Amazon gave me a full refund, which I used to purchase an entry level road bike. The Hiland customer service was cool also. They weren't argumentative or dismissive. if I had questions, they were answered promptly via email.Lesson learned.
Hopeful but not impressed yet. Bought this bike looking for a nice, value road bike. It’s moderately priced so I was hopeful to get decent quality. I read some of the reviews but took a chance that I would get a good bike. I just received it today. Here are some thoughts.Positives:* Looks really nice* Right sized for me* Fairly easy to assemble, especially with a video available on YouTube* Lightweight frameNegatives:* The bike was missing a screw for the front brake. This seems to be a recurring issue. Speaks to QC issues. I reached out to seller for a screw so I can finish the assembly and ride the bike. One screw! So far my first ride has to wait. Seller said they would send it out right away. Waiting to receive it.* No kickstand. I guess it’s been a while since I bought a bike. No kickstand? Really?* The paint on the lower frame, left side was scratched. Bummer because it is right over the Hiland logo. Pretty disappointed as the paint job is otherwise nice* Shimano shift levers are affixed to the handle bar with a thin metal bracket which is pinched closed with a screw. You can’t tighten the shift levers tight enough to keep them from spinning around the handle bar! This prevents you from being able to change gears, which is a critical part of the bike’s operation. Not acceptable. Does anyone know how to fix this? If I can’t resolve I may just return the bike.Bottom line….nice bike on paper. Four negative issues that give me pause for the price I paid. If I can fix the front brake and the shift levers, this could work out. We shall see. Will provide update soon.
The bike came on the expected delivery date. The package is not damaged. I ordered red color because the black is not available. It turns out the red is not bright red and I love it. The assembly is very easy. I got it all assembled in half an hour. I only need to adjust the brakes a bit with not much effort. The ride is very smooth and is faster than I expected.
Finger weg!
This is a really smooth riding bike. The bike components are really well made, my only suggestion is that you do your due diligence and tighten every nut and bolt. Go over it with a fine tooth comb. I had a mechanical issue and contacted customer service, they were an absolute pleasure to work with. It all got sorted out within a day or two. Would recommend.
aside from a few minor issues the bike is great. The thumb shifters needed spacers between them and the handlebars in order to stop them slipping every time you try to change gear and the white handlebar grips were already looking a bit grubby by the time I finished putting the bike together. Rides well.
Great starter bike!I have never rode a road/speed bike before, and this one has everything to offer a new road cyclist. The brakes are good quality, the frame is unbelievably light, and the tires seem to be holding up and decent quality. For the price it's definitely worth it. It also arrives very quickly! 3 business days and I had a new bike at 8pm!Even though I gave it 5 stars I have a couple complaints1. The handle bars are very uncomfortable, but easy to replace or change padding.2. The shifters are in an awkward location, if this bike could be price 150-200 more to have the shifters integrated in the brake levers it would be perfect.
The Hiland Road Bike is perfect for city commuting and racing. Its lightweight frame and 14-speed drivetrain allow for quick acceleration and smooth gear changes. The 700c wheels provide stability and speed on various surfaces.
Features:
- 50cm frame size

Early days, but seems a solid build. I've had this bike less than a week. I'm new to carbon road bikes but I've been getting more into cycling since March of 2024. My other bike is a Velotric ST1M pedal assist bike that I enjoy very much but I wanted something to challenge me more physically. I use the pedal assist on the lowest setting, and I get a good workout, but I decided that if I got a regular, non-electric bike that I could gradually increase my fitness even more by mixing up my workout.I thought the price of this bike was reasonable compared to name brands, so I rolled the dice. I had my local bike shop inspect the bike and assemble it for me. Today I went on the first proper ride - just down my local bike path for about 8 miles - before doing my usual ~30 mile route on my Velotric. Yes, it was a lot more challenging - so mission accomplished! The bike performed well. I've upgraded the pedals, added lights and an electronic bell (for warning the many wandering pedestrians on the LA river bike path). I can really feel the difference in the work out, so I'll very gradually introduce the carbon bike to my rides over the next few months.Overall, I'm happy with the quality - although I really don't have anything to compare it to. The one thing that is odd is that the brake levers (front and back) are on the opposite handlebars to the normal way (front left/rear right is normal) so I've had to place a piece of white tape on the left handlebar as a reminder of the switch. Apparently this is how Chinese bikes are put together.
KOOTU Carbon Road Bike. 100% recommend this product.
Excellent. Excellent bicycle! High quality. I highly recommend. 5 stars
Kootu Colorado boost. Didn’t bought the bike here on Amazon but bought from same seller “sava direct” as a customer return “used”Bought the bike back in May 16. I had waited till I had the bike to the shop for a safety inspection and to put it together.the tech said is solidFull Shimano Ultegra hydraulic set “only rotors are not shimano”When I first received the bike the box was damage and bike had some scratches no disclosed. But after contacting seller they responded quickly and did right. The bike is perfect and not breaking the bank.Overall I’m happy with purchase. Definitely will consider buying from Sava, Kootu bikes again. After I weigh the bike and ride some more will update!
Great bike for the money. I bought it a few months ago and it rides great and shifts very smoothly. Overall a perfect experience!
